Texans Sign Offensive Lineman Andrew Gardner

The Houston Texans have signed offensive lineman Andrew Gardner to a two-year deal to replace Guard Shelly Smith who was placed on injured reserve ending his 2011 season.

Andrew Gardner is 6’6″, 305 lbs from Georgia Tech University and was selected in the 2009 NFL Draft in the 6th round (pick 181) by the Miami Dolphins. He played only one game for the Dolphins between the 2009-2010 seasons. After being cut by the Dolphins, he was apart of the Baltimore Ravens (2010) and Cincinnati Bengals (2010-2011) practice squads.

Gardner looks like a depth move and it will be interesting if he makes the active or practice squad roster.
