With Trindon Holliday Released, Expect More Roster Moves

Today the Houston Texans released second year wide receiver and returner Trindon Holliday. Holliday was drafted in the 2010 NFL draft in the 6th round (197th overall), and was considered a commodity for his blazing speed.

Holliday was on the injured reserve all of the 2010 season with a fractured thumb and was slowed at the beginning of the 2011 preseason with a hamstring issue. Holliday only played in one preseason game and surprisingly made the practice roster coming out of camp. Holliday has not appeared in a regular season games in his NFL career and with the new kick off rules Holliday will have to do more than return kicks to make a NFL roster.

With the Holliday release expect the Texans to address some needs especially with Andre Johnson out for at least three weeks. The Texans worked out some safeties by bringing in Myron Rolle and Darcel McBath, Rolle was last with the Titans and McBath was with the Broncos. It is interesting to see that safeties were brought in to workout, but no one really know what it means.

One would think the Texans could be on the lookout for some wide receiver or outside linebacker depth, but so far that doesn’t seem the case. Still we can all expect some roster moves to come soon.
