T.J. Yates Named NFL Rookie of the Week



For the week of December 8-12, Houston Texans rookie quarterback T.J. Yates was named the NFL Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his playoff clinching performance against the Cincinnati Bengals.


Yates who led a the game winning drive and finished the day 26 of 44 for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns, also chipped in on the ground with 36 yards. His late scamper on the game winning drive for 17 yards proved a big difference maker in the game to keep the drive going to set up for his game winning pass to Kevin Walter.


Yates beat out fellow rookies Titus Young (Lions), Doug Baldwin (Seahawks), Julio Jones (Falcons) and Jake Locker (Titans) for this weeks honor.
