Texans Talking to Mitchell Schwartz at Senior Bowl

According to Optimum Scouting the Houston Texans have shown interest in California Golden Bears offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz at the 2012 Senior Bowl. We all now that all of the NFL scouts try to talk to everyone and get as much information on the players at the game. It shows the Texans are doing their due diligence on covering every player.

As for Schwartz he is a 6’5″ 317 lbs. offensive tackle who started all 51 games in his Cal Bear career, either at left or right tackle. He earned the Brick Muller Award as Cal’s Most Valuable Offensive Lineman (2009-11), and has garnered Pac-10 awards. He has a brother, Geoff Schwartz, who is an offensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers, Geoff missed the entire 2011 season due to injury.

Schwartz has been a cornerstone for the Golden Bears offense, and an Pac-10 All- Academic selection it is apparent he is a reliable player.

Yes, it is due diligence, but it is always good to see who the Texans are talking to during Senior Bowl time.
