Hartmann Suspended by NFL

Houston Texans’ rookie punter Brett Hartman was handed down a 4 game suspension by the NFL late Friday afternoon. It appears he has violated the league’s substance abuse policy, but the exact substance is still up in the air. Houston Fox Sports, Mark Berman, was the first to report the news via twitter.

Texans punter Brett Hartmann suspended 4 games by the NFL. He served one during the playoffs. Hartmann has to serve 3 more.

Hartmann was lost during the 2011 season with a torn ACL against the Atlanta Falcons in week in week 13. He made the team as an undrafted rookie out of Central Michigan, he impressed enough at camp to beat out veteran Brad Maynard for the job.

You can see Hartmann’s stats here.
