Andre Johnson Injury Update and others

According to multiple sources, wide receiver Andre Johnson will miss up to one week of training camp with a strained groin, and an MRI revealed no real significant damage. The injury happened in one-on-one drills when he jumped for a pass and came down hard on the ground. Johnson wanted to continue practice but trainers put a stop to that in a hurry.

With the latest injury surrounding Johnson, the Texans will lean on an unproven wide receiver group to get them through training camp. Don’t expect Johnson to be rushed back from this minor injury.

Mark Berman from Fox Sports Houston also reported that starting cornerback Kareem Jackson suffered a slight hamstring pull, but Jackson assured us it is nothing to be worried about.

Head Coach Gary Kubiak also confirmed that linebacker Darryl Sharpton had a set back in his rehab with his hip now giving him issues. Sharpton was put on injured reserve after tearing his quadricep against the Jacksonville Jaguars last season and Kubiak said at the beginning of camp that Sharpton was close to returning. Sharpton is set to be re-evaluated in the coming days.
