Texans Lose Grimes to the Jets

According to multiple sources, the Houston Texans have lost runningback Jonathan Grimes to the New York Jets, who have added him to their active roster. Grimes was a practice squad player who made some noise during training camp and made a real push to make the active roster coming out of training camp. He surprised with his strong running style and good special teams play during the preseason, and he fit well into the Texans’ zone running scheme.

Grimes was already conditionally claimed by the Jets after he was waived after the preseason, but was not added to the Jets because they had a higher priority on other claims. The William and Mary graduate was one of the most decorated players to play for the Tribe and now he will get his chance on an active roster with the Jets.
