Allen and Amerson Scheduled to Visit Texans

Late last week news came out that the Houston Texans have private workouts scheduled for California Golden Bears Keenan Allen and N.C. State Wolfpack’s David Amerson.

Both Allen and Amerson are considered to be drafted in the top two rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft, and both play positions of need for the Texans.

Keenan Allen is one of the top wide receivers of the draft and could be a potential target for the Texans at #27 overall. Allen was productive at Cal and produced 205 career catches for 2,570 yards and 6 touchdowns, and his junior season he posted 98 receptions for 1,343 yards and 6 touchdowns. He missed the final three games of his senior season with a PCL injury that ended his senior season early and kept him from participating at the 2013 NFL Combine. At 6-2 and 206 lbs., he is scheduled to have his pro day April 9th at Cal and participate in all drills for scouts.

As for David Amerson, he is one of the top defensive backs in the draft who looks like he can help at cornerback or safety. His junior season he led the nation with 13 interceptions and he finished his college career with 17 interceptions and 33 pass deflections. Amerson is 6-1 and 205 lbs. and posted a 4.44 second 40 yard dash, which puts him as an early pick in the 2013 draft. His ball skills are impressive and could be used on the back end of the defense for the Texans, especially at the safety position.
