Ed Reed Finalizes Deal to Join the Texans

Today the Houston Texans announced the signing of their new safety, Ed Reed. Reed’s contract is a win for the organization and for General Manager Rick Smith especially with the low guaranteed money for the future hall of famer.

Reed flew in last Thursday night to finalize his deal Friday morning which he had no comment to reporters about him signing with the Texans.

Reed will join a defense that already has the likes of J.J. Watt, Brian Cushing and Johnathan Joseph who are top players in the NFL in their respective position. The Texans defense will have to evolve some with Reed as the secondary ball hawk, which the Texans have never had in the franchise history.
