D.J. Hayden Slated to Workout for Texans

According to NFL Network’s Gil Brandt, the Houston Texans will host hometown product, cornerback D.J. Hayden in a private workout. Hayden graduated from the University of Houston and garnered first team All Conference selection as a defensive back in 2012 when he posted four interceptions in 9 appearances for the Cougars.

Hayden suffered a freak injury in collision in practice that resulted in a  tear of the inferior vena cava in the heart that ended his 2012 season early. An injury like Hayden’s usually doesn’t result in a good ending, but Hayden was lucky enough to come out alive and get ready for the NFL draft.

Hayden during his pro day posted:

4.40 second 40 yard dash

Vertical jump of 33 1/2 inches

Broad Jump of 10 feet
