Darron Thomas Gets Workout for the Texans

Former Oregon Ducks and Calgary Stampeders quarterback Darron Thomas (6-3, 215 lbs.) worked out for the Houston Texans at a recent private session. Thomas is a homegrown Houston talent where he graduated from Aldine High School and attended Oregon in 2008.

Thomas led the Ducks to the 2011 BCS National Championship where they lost to the Auburn Tigers on a last second field goal. That season (2010) Thomas threw for 2,881 yards and 30 touchdowns which lead to a 12-0 regular season record for the Ducks. The following season (2011) he had a very comparable season with 2,762 yards with 33 touchdowns which led to a Rose Bowl victory to end the season.

He left school after his junior season, but he was not drafted or signed to any team’s camp after the 2012 NFL Draft. Thomas signed with the Stampeders practice squad for the 2012 season, and he has had workouts this offseason with the Texans, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
