Duke Williams Has Private Workout with the Texans

According to Aaron Wilson from the Houston Texans will be hosting safety Michael “Duke” Williams on Sunday. At 6-0 and 190 lbs. Williams is projected to be a 4th round or later pick, but holds some value to NFL teams with his speed to cover faster wide receivers from the safety position.

Williams was a second team All-Wac as a junior and second team All-Mountain west honors as a senior at Nevada. From Reno, Nevada, Williams is not scared to play physical and needs some polishing like all young safeties do coming out of college.

At the 2013 NFL Combine Williams tested decent with:

40 yard dash: 4.52 seconds

225 bench: 13 times

Vertical jump: 37.5 inches

Broad Jump: 126 inches

With the departure of Glover Quin and Quintin Demps, the Texans are in the market for more safety help in the draft. Williams is a late name to keep an eye on as the draft approaches.
