Digging Deep: Minnesota Edition

This will be our weekly installment of Digging Deep on the numbers involved with each game the Houston Texans have played.

In this edition, we start with the first preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings and we bring out some stats that might not be produced unless you dig deep for them.



Minnesota Edition



This is the quarterback rating when the Vikings targeted cornerback Roc Carmichael. He was targeted five times with three completions for 89 yards (17.8 avg.). The long reception was 56 yards when Stephen Burton turned a routine in route into a big play.



Case Keenum’s quarterback rating when he was blitzed. He was 4 of 5 for 28 yards and one touchdown.



The number of passes Case Keenum attempted that were 9 yards or less. Keenum had only three passes over 10 yards during the game. He had 18 pass attempts for the evening.



T.J. Yates’ quarterback rating when he was blitzed. He was 2 of 4 for 15 yards.



The number of passes T.J Yates had over 10 yards. He was a perfect 5 for 5 for 90 yards and a touchdown.



The number of drops the Texans’ wide receivers had against the Vikings. Jeff Maehl, Keshawn Martin and Lestar Jean had 2, DeAndre Hopkins and EZ Nwachukwu had one each.



The number of yards after the catch Garrett Graham had. He led the team in that category.



The amount of plays rookie David Quessenberry played. He led the offense in play count.



D.J. Swearinger and Mike Mohamed led the defense in snaps on Friday night with 42 apiece.
