DeAndre Hopkins Named Offensive Rookie of the Month

Houston Texans rookie 1st round pick DeAndre Hopkins has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month. The wide receiver has been a nice addition to the Texans offense and he has made some positive strides in his first month in the NFL.

In four games for Hopkins:

20 receptions

29 targets

270 yards

13.5 average per reception

1 Touchdown

15 catches have gone for a first down.

The rookie from Clemson has been a breath of fresh air for a franchise that has been looking for another wide receiver to pair with Andre Johnson. It will be interesting to see what Hopkins has in store for the remainder of the season after his strong start to the 2013 season.

Watched him leave corners in the dust at least three times on the hitch and go. O-Line and Schaub haven’t been able to get him the ball or Schaub has choked and read the wrong route. A QB like Flacco or Ryan would be going nuts with Hopkins. They said he didn’t have speed for deep post. He has strength, length and agility that more than compensates for straight line speed. Dumb scouts. Top 5 pick.
