Texans Place Manning and Bouye on I.R.

The Houston Texans have placed starting safety Danieal Manning on the injured reserve ending his 2013 season. Manning injured his leg on a tackle in the 3rd quarter against the St. Louis Rams when his leg buckled when his foot was caught in the ground. This comes as a big blow to a secondary that depends on Manning’s versatility to play in the box and cover tight ends. His speed will be missed.  He just started returning kick this past week before he was injured, but that was short-lived.

Shiloh Keo will start in Manning’s place moving forward and will be called on to fill in for what Manning did for the defense.

Also, the Texans placed rookie cornerback A.J. Bouye on the injured reserve with a hamstring issue which too will end his season. Bouye made the 53 man roster as an UDFA out of  the University of Central Florida, and has been mainly used on special teams for the Texans. He has been playing mostly on coverage teams and currently has only 2 tackles on the season.

Both come as a blow to the secondary depth for the Texans.
