Ray Graham Promoted from the Practice Squad

Ray-Graham

The Houston Texans will promote rookie running back Ray Graham from their practice squad, according to Houston Chronicle’s John McClain. Graham is a rookie from Pittsburgh where he had a successful career for the Panthers before he tore his ACL in 2011. He returned his senior season to rush for 1,042 yards and 11 touchdowns and had 340 yards receiving with two touchdowns.

Graham was buried in the depth chart during training camp behind fellow rookies Cierre Wood and Dennis Johnson and veteran Deji Karim, and did not get a chance to showcase his ability.  All four running backs were pushing for the third running back spot coming out of camp, which was won by Wood. Graham gets his chance on the active roster due to Wood being waived and injuries to Arian Foster (Hamstring) and Ben Tate (Ribs) sustained last week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Graham is 5-9 and 193 lbs. In the preseason, he rushed 7 times for 29 yards and a touchdown.
