Kubiak To Be Back on the Sidelines in a Week for the Texans

Head Coach Gary Kubiak was released from the hospital today and now is on schedule to return to the Houston Texans sidelines for the Oakland Raiders game at Reliant. This comes as a surprise after Kubiak was taken from the Sunday Night game against the Indianapolis Colts in an ambulance after he suffered a TIA (mini stroke) on the field heading in for halftime.

For the time being the Texans have named defensive coordinator Wade Phillips the interim head coach while Kubiak is out this week. Kubiak has been in contact with his coaches while out and has turned over full decision-making to Phillips during this stretch coming up this week to face the Arizona Cardinals.

It will be interesting to see if Phillips makes any personnel moves, but Phillips says he is “Keeping the seat warm”, until Kubiak returns to his head coaching duties.
