Wade Phillips Named Interim Head Coach

This comes as no surprise with the recent events concerning Head Coach Gary Kubiak last Sunday night. The Texans turn to their only coach on the staff with NFL coaching experience in Wade Phillips. The defensive coordinator has had head coaching stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos which led to a 82-61 record. He also filled in on an interim basis with the Atlanta Falcons (2003) and New Orleans Saints (1985) where he replaced Dan Reeves in Atlanta and his dad Bum Phillips in New Orleans.

Phillips will take over the head coaching duties for the foreseeable future with Kubiak’s health the main focus. There is no time-table for when this will end, but Phillips will be the man in charge to get this team out of the current 6 game losing streak they are in.
