Case Keenum Set To Start for the Texans on Sunday

Head Coach Gary Kubiak has named quarterback Case Keenum the started for Sunday’s home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“Yeah, Case (Keenum) will start. I’ve got total confidence in him. As I told you guys yesterday, I made a decision during the course of the game with something that I was fixing to go do in the fourth quarter that I thought that would be very difficult on a young player. So that’s why I put Matt (Schaub) in there and he got us in position to win. But no, Case will start. I’ve talked to both of them.”

This comes on the heels of Kubiak pulling Keenum from Sunday’s game in favor of former starter Matt Schaub against the Oakland Raiders. Keenum against the Raiders was 13/24 for 170 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Keenum’s play has been solid, but second half woes have hurt the the Texans and the offense plays a big part of these struggles.

The quarterback carousel looks like it is back on Keenum, but not the question is how long until Schaub is placed back in the huddle.

For the season Keenum is 70 for 126 for a 55.6% completion percentage, also he has 8 touchdowns and 1 interception with two fumble lost.
