The Houston Texans have been depleted once again for the final game of the season. Interim Head Coach Wade Phillips announced that the Texans will be placing three players on the injured reserve and this will leave the team scrambling to fill roster spots.

The Texans will be without starter Johnathan Joseph, who tore a ligament in his foot which will require surgery to repair it, tight end Brad Smelley will also be out with a torn calf muscle and back up running back Deji Karim is out with a broken collarbone.

Also, new starting running back Dennis Johnson’s status is in doubt for Sunday with a hip injury.

It may be the last game of the season, but this will only increase the chances for the Texans to obtain the top overall pick for the 2014 NFL Draft.
