Report: Bill O’Brien Coming to Houston is “Imminent”

With Black Monday upon the NFL landscape it looks like the Houston Texans are closing in on filling their vacant head coach position. Chris Mortenson, ESPN, said that a deal with O’Brien is “imminent” and expects the deal to be done within 24 hours.

Owner Bob McNair made it clear that he wanted to have the interviews taken care of before the new year and things appear to be falling into place for the Texans. O’Brien has been tagged to the Houston opening the past few weeks with rumors non stop coming from Happy Valley.

The first step is almost complete for a team that finished 2-14 and getting their head coach in place will start the rest of the moves for an interesting upcoming off-season.

Yes! BoB was one of my favorite candidates. David Shaw was my #1 favorite, along with BoB and Art Briles. Zimmer from the Bengals was the only NFL coordinator I liked who I thought could make the jump to head couch. The only retread couch I kind of liked was Ken Whisenhunt, but we probably are not going to get the chance to interview him. Hopefully, we get Bridgewater to team with BoB.

By the way, now with Chud fired by the Browns, you think Ray Horton their DC stands a chance to be hired by the Texans as our DC when we most likely move on from Wade? He was a HC candidate to some Texans fans I heard of. Also is Chud a potential OC? He did good work with developing Cam Newton in Carolina and worked fairly well with whatever “weapons” he had in Cleveland, making Josh Gordon into a star receiver.
