Report: Texans Assistant Coaches Told to Pursue other “Opportunities”

According to Alex Marvex from Fox Sports, the Houston Texans coaching staff has been told to pursue other “opportunities” while the head coaching search continues.

This comes as a slight surprise and shows the Texans are committed to cleaning house for the next Texans head coach.

This should lead to two new coordinators and position coaches for a team that finished 2-14. Wade Phillips, Bill Kollar, Vance Joseph, Larry Kirksey, Reggie Herring, John Benton, Bob Ligashesky and Chick Harris all appear to be looking for new positions elsewhere before the 2014 season kicks off.

Slight surprise? Seems to me a ‘surprise’ would have been telling them NOT to talk to other teams. I suppose this means Wade isn’t getting the job, maybe that’s the ‘slight surprise’?

I am glad Wade is not getting it. He is not head coach material. He is too easy on the players. He ruined Cowboys after Bill Parcells had built a super bowl contending team
