Black Saturday at Reliant (1.4.2014)

Houston Texans Head Coach Bill O’Brien has interviews scheduled for this weekend with the 2013 Houston Texans coaching staff. The head coach has thrown a swift hammer on the 2-14 staff by firing defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, linebacker coach Reggie Herring, defensive back coach Vance Joseph, quarterbacks coach Karl Dorrell, running backs coach Chick Harris, wide receiver coach Larry Kirskey and tight end coach Brian Pariani.

This comes as little surprise with the results of the 2013 season and it was known that the staff was told to look for other “opportunities” before O’Brien was hired by the Texans. The staff has taken a big hit and it looks like there could be more firings on the horizon for the Texans coaching staff.

There are still interviews to happen for the Texans late this week.  John Benton, Bob Ligashesky and Bill Kollar are waiting for final word and still need to be interviewed by O’Brien for their final decision.
