In more moves for the new look Houston Texans, Head Coach Bill O’Brien will be bringing his safeties coach from Penn State Anthony Midget. Also, O’Brien will replace the strength and conditioning staff with his staff from Happy Valley led by Craig Fitzgerald and his assistants Sean Hayes and Dwight Galt IV.

Known as the “Iron Lion” Fitzgerald will be headed to Houston in the same capacity for the Texans, and it came down to what coach would offer him first and O’Brien did.

As for Midget he resigned on Monday and coached safeties for O’Brien at Penn State. He joined the Nitanny Lions in 2013, after being at Georgia State University since 2008 and in 2012 he was the defensive coordinator. He has spent time at Virginia Tech as a graduate assistant and joined Bill Curry at Georgia State as a secondary, special teams before being named defensive coordinator.

Midget played for the Hokies for four seasons and appeared in the 1999 BCS National Championship team as a starting corner back under Frank Beamer. He also played in the NFL when he was drafted in the 5th round (134th overall) by the Atlanta Falcons and he also spent two seasons on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad.

O’Brien staff is starting to lineup with majority of his staff coming from Penn State.
