Andre Johnson Will Not Play in the Pro Bowl

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will not participate in this year’s 2014 Pro Bowl game in Hawaii. The reason for Johnson not playing in the game is unknown at the moment and there should be no real reason to worry for his absence from this exhibition game.

This marks the 7th time Johnson has been selected to the annual event, and is the most decorated Texan in team history.

Johnson appeared in all 16 games this season and had 109 receptions for 1,407 yards and five touchdowns. This was a refreshing sight for the Texans watching Johnson put together back to back solid seasons after an injury filled 2011 season.

NFL records

  • Only player with 60+ receptions in his first 8 seasons
  • Most games with 10+ receptions in a season: 7 (tied with Wes Welker)
  • Most seasons with 100+ receptions: 5 (tied with Wes Welker)
  • Most seasons with 100+ receptions and 1,400+ yards: 4
  • Only player to gain the highest two-game total in NFL history.
