With news that O’Brien could go without an offensive coordinator, Godsey’s role will be even more important as the quarterbacks coach in 2014. Godsey was an offensive assistant with the Patriots in 2011 when O’Brien was the offensive coordinator the same season. O’Brien also coached Godsey at Georgia Tech in 2001, Godsey was the quarterback under then offensive coordinator, Bill O’Brien.

Godsey was a big part of the growth and production of Rob Gronkowski and former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

With the hiring of Godsey, the Texans are closing in on completing their 2014 coaching staff.
