City of Houston Honors T.J. Yates

The City of Houston and Mayor Annise Parker honored Houston Texans quarterback T.J. Yates today at city hall for his work with veterans in the community. Yates has been instrumental on helping veterans returning home to Houston and over the past two seasons he has donated 10 tickets to each home game to their cause.

“It’s an awesome recognition for helping these guys, they’ve done so much to help every single one of us. I can’t thank everybody enough, Mayor Parker, the Texans, LSVA and the Wounded Warrior Project for making this possible.” -T.J. Yates (full article here)

Yates was also honored by the Wounder Warrior Project and the LSVA (Lone Star Veterans Association) today in the ceremony.

Yates is in his 3rd season out of North Carolina when he was drafted by the Texans in the 5th round of the 2011 draft. He is only one of two quarterbacks from the 2011 draft to win a NFL playoff game.
