Ryan Shazier Meets with the Texans

The Houston Texans have met with The Ohio State University linebacker, Ryan Shazier according to reports from Walter Football. A highly productive player for the Buckeyes, Shazier had 144 tackles his junior season at linebacker. A first team All-American and First team All Big Ten selection, Shazier was a terror for opposing offenses. Not only a tackling machine, he registered 7 sacks and had 15 for his career.

One interesting factor for Shazier is that one of his former defensive coaches at Ohio State in Mike Vrabel is now the linebackers coach for the Texans. Also, Head Coach Bill O’Brien saw him for two seasons coaching at Penn State, so there is familiarity with Shazier among the new coaching staff.

The Texans are looking for inside linebacker help and getting faster on defense is priority for this upcoming season, and Shazier could help in that department.
