Here is a running list of the Houston Texans 2014 Off-Season.

Texans sign free agent tight end Zach Potter.



Bill O’Brien Works out Pitt quarterback Tom Savage after his pro day.

A Denver radio station reports the Texans inquired about Broncos back up quarterback Brock Osweiler.



Bill O’Brien works out Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after the Northwestern pro day.

Texans are working to keep tight end Garret Graham in Houston.

Exclusive rights free agent Ricky Sapp re-signs with the Texans.



UCF quarterback Blake Bortles confirms he has a visit set up with the Texans after his pro day.

There are 7 teams including the Texans that are interested in the services of Garrett Graham. There is mutual interest in Graham returning to Houston.



It is reported that the Texans and free agent quarterback Matt Cassel both have interest in him coming to Houston.

The Texans waive inside linebacker Evan Frierson.

The Texans claim outside linebacker Paul Hazel off of waivers from the Cleveland Browns.



NFL AM on NFL Network reports the Texans have inquired about free agent quarterback Mike Vick.

Matt Cassel comes off the market after agreeing to terms to return to the Minnesota Vikings.



Ryan Mallett‘s name comes up in a trade possibility with the New England Patriots.

Texans defensive lineman Earl Mitchell is gaining interest, the Chicago Bears have been acknowledged as a possible landing spot.



The Houston Chronicle’s John McClain says the Texans are not going to trade for Ryan Mallett, then points out that Brian Hoyer could be a possible trade target.

According to Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub said he believes he is returning to the team in 2014.

Linebacker Brian Cushing is expected to be cleared in two weeks and be full speed before OTAs kicks off for the Texans.

Free Agent fullback Vonta Leach says he would mind finishing his career in Houston.



Houston Texans free agent defensive end Antonio Smith is said to have four team interested in him. One is to believed to be the Tennessee Titans.

According to Michael C. Wright (ESPN/ Chicago Bears Reporter) the Houston Texans have checked on free agent quarterback Josh McCown.

Johnathan Joseph and Owen Daniels are both open to restructuring their contracts for the team.

Daniels also acknowledges he could be a cap casualty for the upcoming season.

Texans Free agent defensive tackle Earl Mitchell has been linked as a target for the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears. It appears his time is up in Houston.

Ben Volin from the Boston Globe reports that the Texans could be legit suitors for Julian Edleman if the New Patriots can not sign him to a deal.

According to Mary Kay Cabot the Cleveland Browns are looking to sign Matt Schaub if and when he is released from the Texans. 



The Tampa Buccaneers had emerged as a landing spot for Garrett Graham if he hit the open market. The Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions have all inquired about the tight end.

The Texans release corner back Brice McCain.

The Texans release tight end Owen Daniels. 

The Dolphins look to be the front-runner to sign Earl Mitchell.

Antonio Smith has a visit set up with the Washington Redskins.

The Texans seem to have interest in offensive lineman Chris Williams according to Jim Thomas from the St.Louis Post-Dispatch

The Texans are second in line to meet with free agent quarterback Josh McCown. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the first meeting with the quarterback.

Free Agent guard Wade Smith doesn’t rule out the return to Houston.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says that Houston could be a possible spot landing spot for free agent wide receiver Eric Decker.

The Texans do not tender restricted free agents Bryan Braman, Lestar Jean and Terrell McClain. The move makes all three of them free agents.

According to Dave Zangaro (CSN Houston), Texans Bryan Braman turned down an offer from the Texans to test the free agent market.


Free agent inside linebacker Joe Mays is drawing interest from the Kansas City Chiefs according to Adam Caplan. The Texans have some interest in Patriots players: Brandon Spikes, LeGarrette Blount and Julian Edelman, per Charlie Campbell of Walter Football.


The Houston Chronicle’s John McClain and NFL Newtork’s Ian Rapoport report that the Texans are going to hold on the Matt Schaub for the time being.

Mike Silver of NFL Network reports that free agent tight end Brandon Pettigrew could potentially land with the Texans.  

Ben Tate is visiting the Cleveland Browns.

The Texans do not get a visit with free agent quarterback Josh McCown. McCown agreed to a 2 year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Free agent outside line backer Bryan Braman signs with the Philadelphia Eagles on a three year deal.

Free agent defensive lineman Terrell McClain sings a three year deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Owen Daniels after being released is set to visit the Green Bay Packers.

Rumor is that the Oakland Raiders have heavy interest in Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. 

Former Texans inside linebacker Joe Mays has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Antonio Smith is scheduled to meet with the Oakland Raiders.



The Houston Texans make their first signing of the free agency period by bringing back one of their own in tight end Garrett Graham. 

Free agent inside linebacker Darryl Sharpton has signed with the Washington Redskins. A one year deal has been reported.

Antonio Smith is set to visit the Tennessee Titans.

Ben Tate scheduled visit to Cleveland was postponed, but now is with the Browns meeting with team officials.

Ben Tate makes it official with the Cleveland Browns on a two-year deal.



Ian Rapoport has added the Cleveland Browns to the Oakland Raiders on teams connected to the Texans in a possible trade for quarterback Matt Schaub. 



The Houston Texans hosted free agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and signed him to a two-year deal by the end of the day. 

Former Houston Texans wide receiver Lestar Jean has a visit set up with the Carolina Panthers.



The Texans have struck a deal with the Oakland Raiders sending quarterback Matt Schaub to the Raiders for a 6th round draft pick.

Free agent safety Kendrick Lewis has agreed to a one year deal with the Texans.
