Report: Texans to Add Mark Sanchez to the Quarterback Interest List

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has added another name to the Houston Texans quarterback list, with apparent interest in New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. With the Texans looking for help at the quarterback position it appears Sanchez is another quarterback the team could possibly check on to see if he could be a piece for the team.

Sanchez has been the center of attention since he was drafted #5 overall in the 2009 NFL draft by the New York Jets, and his time appears to be up in the Big Apple. After a shoulder injury landed him on the injured reserve from a hit in the preseason, he was passed over by rookie Geno Smith for the starting job.

Since arriving with the Jets in 2009 he has a 33-29 regular season record with a 4-2 playoff record and has thrown for 12,092 yards with 68 touchdowns and 69 interceptions.

It is a matter of time before Sanchez is set to be released by the Jets with his 2014 cap number at $13.1 million. The 27-year-old veteran will be heading to a new team in 2014 and it looks like the Texans will do some leg work on the quarterback to find out more.
