Jason Verrett To Visit the Texans

The Houston Texans are continuing a busy week of bringing in prospects and the list grows with TCU cornerback Jason Verrett on the list. Verrett was the 2013 Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year when he appeared in 11 games with 39 total tackles and 2 interceptions. The all-American was not tested much at cornerback for the Horned Frogs and he 14 pass breakups which ranked him 7th nationally in that category per game.

In three seasons (37 games) for the Horned Frogs, Verrett totaled 160 tackles, 9 interceptions and 34 pass deflections.

At 5-9 and 189 lbs. Verrett has been considered a second round prospect going into the NFL Draft. He showed his athleticism at the NFL Combine when he was in the top of his position group in the 40 yard dash (4.38 seconds), vertical jump (39 inches), 3 cone drill (6.69 seconds) and 20 yard shuttle (4 seconds).

There are concerns about his durability with his size and frame, but his athleticism and speed make Verrett an intriguing prospect.
