The Houston Texans Draft Louis Nix

The Houston Texans moved up in the NFL Draft by trading their 101st (4th) and 141st (5th) picks to move up to 83rd overall with the Philadelphia Eagles to select Notre Dame’s Nose Tackle Louis Nix. Nix was considered the top nose tackle of the draft and was a perfect fit for Romeo Crennel’s defense up front that desperately needed help.

In three years at South Bend, Nix totaled 122 tackles (43 solo, 79 assist) 14 TFLs and 2.5 sacks in 34 games for the Irish.

Nix missed the final six weeks of the 2013 season with a left knee injury and in late November to repair a torn meniscus.

With the addition of Nix the Texans have found their other nose tackle and a possible starter for 2014.
