The Houston Texans Select Alfred Blue

The Houston Texans have selected LSU running back Alfred Blue with the 181st pick in the 5th round of the NFL Draft. He played all four seasons at LSU and is considered a scheme-versatile runner who has the potential to be a better a professional player than college runner.

Blue tore his ACL in 2012 after the first three games of the season where he had back to back 100 yard games to start the season. After the injury, Blue was never a feature back for the Tigers due to their offensive scheme.

His combination of size, speed and power he has good vision, instincts and patience with the ball in his hands. Only averaging 52 carries a season for LSU, Blue comes out with little wear and tear for a college back.

Blue appeared in 40 games and started 7 with 209 rushes for 1,253 yards and 11 touchdowns and also caught 16 passed for 107 yards.
