The Houston Texans Select Andre Hal

The Houston Texans have drafted with the 216th pick in the 7th round cornerback out of Vanderbilt University. Hal was a cornerback and kick returner and appeared in 50 games where he had 133 total tackles (96 solo, 37 assists) with 8.5 TFLs and 6 career interceptions.

Only at 5-10 and 188 lbs. and will be placed into the mix to compete for a job on the Texans 53 man roster. Considered to have enough size to play on the outside of the defense, it would not be a surprise to see him bump inside to compete for the slot cornerback position.

Hal needed his 2013 season as an All-SEC selection and broke into the starting lineup during his freshman season in 2010. Hal was only one of five freshman to end up playing at the time.
