Texans Agree to Terms with Louis Nix III

According to Tania Ganguli (ESPN) the Houston Texans have agreed to terms with rookie nose tackle Louis Nix III. Nix was drafted in the 3rd round (83rd overall) after the Texans traded two picks (4th/101st overall and 5th/141st overall) to move up and snag the nose tackle in the 3rd round.

At Notre Dame, Nix III started 30 of 34 games recording 123 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 14 TFLs and 18 quarterback pressures. A knee injury (torn meniscus) slowed Nix III his senior season after an impressive 2012 season where he received the “Moose Krause” award for defensive lineman of the year at Notre Dame.

At 6-2 and 331 lbs. Nix was considered the best most tackle in the NFL draft this year and immediately could be a starter for the Texans.

With the signing of Nix the Texans are left with Jadeveon Clowney, Xavier Su’a-Filo, Jeoffery Pagan and C.J. Fiedorowicz as the only rookies left to sign.
