Texans Release Four

The Houston Texans made some roster moves to head into OTAs and clear up some room for a couple newly signed players.

Players Released

Chris Martin, OT, UCF (Waived Injured)

Tyrone Ezell, DT, Pittsburgh

Nathan Slaughter, WR, West Texas A&M

Andy Cruse, WR, Miami (OH)

Andy Cruse spent time with the Texans last season and was placed on the injured reserve in 2013. He was kept over the offseason only to be released after not participating in rookie mini camp or voluntary mini-camp.

Chris Martin ended up in a boot after the first day of mini-camp and Tyrone Ezell struggled with conditioning during the three-day camp.

Nathan Slaughter was a product of not enough room on the 90 man limit roster at the wide receiver position. The Texans currently have 11 receivers on the roster heading into OTAs.

Why was Slaughter cut before Labhart/Mcclung?
