Texans Release Two Rookies in Coyle and Grosz

The Houston Texans have made two roster moves by releasing rookie tight end Chris Coyle and waiving injured defensive lineman Sullivan Grosz.

Chris Coyle finished 3rd all time on ASU’s tight end receiving list with 92 career catches and has nine career touchdowns in his 4 seasons. Playing in 40 career games and starting 26 straight, the totaled 1,192 receiving yards. In 2013 Coyle was first team All-Pac-12 when he had 29 receptions for 423 yards and four touchdowns. Coyle played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl prior to the season.

Sullivan “Stan” Grosz was the Big Sky Conference Co-Defenisve Player of the Year in 2013 when he had 70 total tackles with 8.5 sacks. He was a team captain for two years while starting three seasons for the Mustangs. According to Grosz, the Texans were calling repeatedly towards the end of the draft in the 7th round. He was waived with an apparent foot injury that was suffered at the end of OTAs.
