Houston Texans Meet with North Carolina’s M.J. Stewart at the Senior Bowl

The Houston Texans continue gathering information on prospects while coaching at the Senior Bowl and took time to catch up with North Carolina cornerback M.J. Stewart after practice on Thursday. Stewart is on the South squad, working with the Texans staff, giving the team a unique opportunity to get to know him as a player on and off the field.

Stewart measured in at 5’10″ and 198 lbs. when the Senior Bowl opened earlier in the week.

In 2017, Stewart played in 12 games and had 45 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and 12 pass deflections. For his career in 49 games, Stewart had 47 pass deflections and 6 interceptions.

According to many reports, Stewart has had a strong two days at the Senior Bowl, especially in 1-on-1 drills where he is able to show the full complement of skills to be a solid player at the NFL level. Many have spoken highly of his footwork to get in and out of breaks to cover receivers as well as his ability to break on the football.
