Memphis’ Riley Ferguson Meets with the Houston Texans at the Shrine Game

With Shrine Game practices in full swing, the Houston Texans have started their up-close look at potential draft prospects for the 2018 NFL Draft. As usual, the Texans and the rest of NFL teams will take notes on all the prospects but will dig deeper on players to build their profiles as the off-season moves on.

The Texans are set to meet with Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson, according to Zach Goodell of Locked on Jaguars. Ferguson measured in a 6’ 2-3/4″ and 196 lbs., with 9-3/4″ hands and a 75-1/4” wingspan.

Ferguson played two seasons with the Tigers, completing 63.1% of his passes over during that stretch with 70 touchdowns to only 19 interceptions. In 2017, Ferguson threw for 4,257 yards with 38 passing touchdowns and 9 interceptions while completing 63.1% of his passes in 13 games.

Ferguson enrolled at Tennessee in 2013 but suffered a leg injury and red-shirted that season. In 2015, he transferred to Coffeyville Community College where he averaged 326.9 yards per game, ranking him 3rd in the nation.

At this point, Ferguson is considered a day-three draft prospect as a quarterback.
