Ole Miss Marquis Haynes Meets with the Houston Texans at the Senior Bowl

After practice at the Senior Bowl on Wednesday, the Houston Texans met with Ole Miss edge player, Marquis Haynes. Haynes played outside linebacker for Ole Miss and is working at that position for the Texans coaching staff at the Senior Bowl.

With the Rebels in 2017, Haynes finished with All-SEC honors, boasting stats of 45 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks on the season. He also caused 3 fumbles in the 12 games in which he appeared. In 50 career games, Haynes put up 32 total sacks and 47.5 tackles for loss. Haynes made a living in the backfield of opposing offenses.

At the Senior Bowl, NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock mentioned that he sees Haynes as more than an edge rusher. Mayock sees the prospect as a defender who can drop into coverage and rush the passer from either the interior or the edge.
