Houston Texans’ insider Deepi Sidhu confirmed with General Manage Rick Smith, the Houston Texans will be hosting Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel in a pre draft visit. NFL rules allow NFL teams to use 30 visits prior to the NFL draft to visit with potential draft picks. Manziel will join fellow in-coming quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles who the Texans already have meetings lined up with. After Manziel’s Pro Day in College Station, the Texans would be holding private meeting with the Aggie quarterback. 75 representatives from 30 NFL teams attended the high publicized pro day, and Head Coach Bill O’Brien was in attendance….

A depth signing by the Houston Texans, safety Kendrick Lewis has plenty to prove to make the 53 man roster coming out of training camp. Lewis was a nice surprise for the Chiefs as a 5th round pick out of Mississippi and was supposed to be a dynamic duo with Eric Berry.  His best season was his rookie season and heading into his 4th year his play slipped after Romeo Crennel was fired by the Chiefs. The Houston Texans have been awarded three compensatory draft picks for the 2014 NFL Draft. This will give the Texans a total of 11 draft picks for the three day event. The compensatory picks awarded to the Texans are for free agents lost to other teams and signed from other teams. The formula for the exact process to name the picks is unknown, but the compensatory picks can not be traded at any point.   Compensatory Picks 4th (135th), 6th (211th)  and 7th (256th) round picks.
