Today the Houston Texans named their team captains for the 2012 season, and there is not much change on who will be wearing the “C” on their jersey this season. For the offense quarterback Matt Schaub and wide receiver Andre Johnson were elected and for the defense, defensive end Antonio Smith and linebacker Brian Cushing were elected also. Out at training camp today, at the half way point of “game week”, the Houston Texans were working hard despite the rising temperature as practice continued. Plenty of small notes to pass around today from camp. Training Camp: Rejuvenated
With Day Eight in the books, the Houston Texans had an upbeat practice which turned into only a morning session. For two hours, the team was running well and both the offense and defense had some good moments out at the Reliant practice fields. – According to Head Coach Gary Kubiak, three starters are set to return to practice on Monday. Entering Day Seven of Houston Texans training camp, the big story in camp was the recent injury to J.J. Watt and the excused absence of wide receiver Lestar Jean. Here are some camp notes from today. – There were plenty of rumors flying around on the absence of Lestar Jean from Thursday’s practice, but on Friday he was the first one on the field and was working with assistants on the jugs machine. Owen Daniels Takes on Camp Challenge
Starting tight end for the Houston Texans, Owen Daniels has taken on a new type of challenge for training camp. Not only is he working hard at camp, but he is getting his style on during camp. SOTT Talks to T.J. Yates
If there is one Houston Texans’ player that we had to catch up to, it was quarterback T.J. Yates. One of the more beloved Texans to suit up, #13 won the respect of his teammates and Texans fans everywhere. J.J. Watt Out with Dislocated Elbow
According to Head Coach Gary Kubiak, star defensive end J.J. Watt dislocated his elbow and will be out for a short amount of time. He will be ready for Week One at the latest. Kubiak was quick to say, “We dodged another bullet.” There will be no rush to get Watt back on the field according to Kubiak, because they know what they are going to get from him. J.J. Texans Training Camp: Another Scare
Full pads were on for the 6th day of camp and the Houston Texans did receive a scare to one of their star players. - Duane Brown, starting left tackle, got kicked on his left ankle when he got rolled up from behind. Brown played two plays after the incident but couldn’t continue. After evaluation they shut him down for the day and he headed in for an MRI. The MRI came back negative and was only deemed a bone bruise. He has been listed as day-to-day. Rashad Butler will fill in at the left tackle position until Brown comes back….
