Third year corner back Roc Carmichael has been signed to the Philadelphia Eagles active roster off of the Texans practice squad. Carmichael will be placed on the active 53 man roster since he was taken off of the practice squad.
Entering his third season with the Texans, Carmichael has been used very little since being drafted in the 4th round of the 2011 NFL draft out of Virginia Tech. He spent his entire rookie season on the injured reserve after injuring a shoulder, and in his second season he saw action in 6 games where he registered 9 tackles with one pass deflection.
Carmichael was beat out during camp by rookie A.J. Bouye for a spot on the 53 man roster which forced the Texans to waive Carmichael on the final cuts. There were rumors before Carmichael came back to the Texans practice squad the he was in discussions to join the Eagles after he cleared waivers.
With Carmichael leaving the Texans will have to sign one to their practice squad.
