Bouye Makes Early Impression with the Texans

A.J. Bouye, #34

Every season NFL teams have players who come from nowhere to make an impression, and this season for the Houston Texans there are a handful of players taking this step. One of those players is rookie cornerback A.J. Bouye from Central Florida who was left undrafted, but there for the Texans after the 2013 NFL Draft. Bouye, pronounced boy-YAY, was considered an injury risk by NFL teams after he tore his ACL during his junior season on an interception return. Leach Coming Back to Houston?

leach

At the end of the 2010 season fan favorite and then starting fullback Vonta Leach left via free agency to join the Baltimore Ravens. Nearly three years later and a Super Bowl ring on Leach’s finger, the best fullback in football was released by the Ravens. There was some speculation on what might happen to Leach, and then this morning this came out.   Just spoke with Vonta Leach’s agent Ralph Vitolo, who said he spoke with #Texans GM Rick Smith today and there’s mutual interest. — Tania Ganguli (@taniaganguli) June 12, 2013   Vitolo mentioned financials on whether a leach return…

Dobbins

Another set of of practices for the Houston Texans in their three day mandatory schedule that began today. The arrival of two key veterans is where all of the attention was focused to, and today marked the first day that the entire 90 man roster was together as a team. Today was a sultry day for the Texans and early in the day we focused on some things to watch for at mini camp, and it was a good starting point heading into mini-camp.   Day One – Head Coach Gary Kubiak sat the majority of his veterans with the exception of Ryan…

The Risers Coming Out of Texans OTAs

Samm2

The Houston Texans wrapped up OTAs last week and after 10 practices the team got some quality work done prior to mini-camp. Rookies were introduced to the veterans and they experienced NFL level practices. While the veterans shook of some rust from the off-season, they still worked out efficiently under controlled circumstances. The seasoned veterans on the team took days off to give some of the younger players some much-needed reps, but overall the team was focused on the task at hand. Even without pads there were some standouts during the 10 days and they showed some solid progression heading into mandatory…

It is hard to miss Johnson on the field he is 6-4 and 290 lbs. and is truly a gifted athlete for his size. We have been fortunate enough to cover Johnson for almost a year since he has been in Houston, and the…
