The Rundown: Texans vs. Jets
The toughest game for the Houston Texans to date, they went into MetLife Stadium and got their first ever win over the New York Jets 23-17. The game was not how the “experts” expected this game to end up, but the win did not come without a blow the Texans might have to deal with, the potential loss of Brian Cushing. The game will be over shadowed by the injury to Cushing, but the Texans grinded out the victory over the tough, dangerous Jets. The Jets played inspired football the entire game, but even despite another far from perfect game…
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Jets Edition
The Houston Texans came into MetLife Stadium with their minds set on becoming 5-0, but they didn’t expect the Jets to put up a legitimate fight. The Texans first offensive possession was run to perfection; it led to a wide open Owen Daniels touchdown. The game was far more competitive than what was expected by all accounts, but the Texans showed their mettle and rode the defense to a win. FINAL SCORE: Texans 23 Jets 17 Texans Regular Season Record: 5-0 Texans Divisional Record: 2-0 Texans AFC Conference Record: 5-0 Texans VS NFC Conference Record: 0-0 Game…
Texans to Watch: Titans Edition
The Texans look to improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in the division at Reliant Stadium this weekend. The foe is division rival Tennessee Titans, which come to Houston after winning their first game in overtime, 44-41 against the Detroit Lions. The Texans (and probably most fans) are riding a “Rocky Mountain High” into this game after beating Peyton Manning and the Broncos last week. But that was last week and this could be a trap game if the Boys in Steel Blue aren’t ready. Hopefully with the match-up being a home division game, it will push the Texans…
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Jaguars Edition
The Houston Texans invaded Everbank Field to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first matchup of the season. The Texans started the game on offense and started with a vanilla passing game. They moved the ball, but not effectively enough to score a touchdown as it led to a field goal. The Texans’ defense came out firing on all cylinders as the Bulls on Parade forced an easy three and out after a pair of encroachment penalties. The Texans had very little resistance as they were able to turn off the air attack on the Jaguars and coast to a…
Texans Players to Watch: Dolphins Edition
With the 2012 season fast approaching, expectations have never been higher for a Texans’ team. In fact, some “experts” are predicting not only a repeat AFC South Championship but also a Super Bowl appearance. But, let’s not get carried away – they still have to play the games. This Sunday the Texans will play host to the Miami Dolphins, who feature a rookie quarterback in former Texas A&M Aggie Ryan Tannehill and a rookie head coach in Joe Philbin. Wearing jersey number 17, Tannehill is ironically the 17th starting quarterback for the Dolphins since legendary hall of famer Dan Marino. However, the good news…
Training Camp: Rejuvenated
With Day Eight in the books, the Houston Texans had an upbeat practice which turned into only a morning session. For two hours, the team was running well and both the offense and defense had some good moments out at the Reliant practice fields. – According to Head Coach Gary Kubiak, three starters are set to return to practice on Monday. Kareem Jackson, Duane Brown and Andre Johnson have all made it clear they are ready to go but the Texans, being gun-shy from last season’s injury bug, are taking every precaution with their players. – Defensive lineman Sonny Harris left practice early…

Tate Was Target for the Browns
According to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, on draft day the Cleveland Browns were knocking on the Houston Texans’ door regarding running back Ben Tate. Rumors were coming around on draft day that the Texans were offered a 2nd round pick but today it was rumored that the Browns offered the #22 overall pick for the third year back. It feels that Tate’s value as a running back could possibly not get any higher than it is right now. According to John McClain this morning, the offer for the 1st round pick from the Browns never occurred. This is after…
NFL Top 100: Earning Respect
It is no secret on how we feel about the Houston Texans but there comes a time where enough is enough. The NFL, for the second year, has let the NFL players vote who the top 100 players are in the NFL. This could probably go for any NFL team’s fan base and where their players are ranked, but the Texans are still working for respect among the NFL landscape. In 2011, when the Texans were 6-10 they put FOUR players on the Top 100 List with Mario Williams (#71), Vonta Leach (#65), Arian Foster (#25) and Andre Johnson (#7). Now…
