Texans Draft: DeAndre Hopkins
With the 27th Overall Pick The Houston Texans, in the 2013 NFL draft, have selected DeAndre Hopkins from Clemson University and have added one of the most complete wide receivers in the draft. During his senior season, Hopkins posted 82 receptions for 1,404 yards and 18 touchdowns. In three seasons at Death Valley, he had 27 total touchdowns and showed he can create as a wide receiver many ways. He can play across the middle or go over the top of defenses. Analysis: The Texans have finally added that elusive wide receiver that the team has needed for some time. Hopkins will get every opportunity to…

He has always had football in his blood. His father played for the Denver Broncos while his brother played for the San Francisco 49ers. As far back as he can remember, Brewer knew he was shooting for the NFL. Brewer graduated from Clemson with a degree in Psychology in May,…

Texans Have Plenty of Wide Receiver Options
”We need another playmaker (at receiver). We want more speed at receiver. Andre (Johnson) had a great year, but we can’t expect him to carry the load for all the receivers.” – Houston Texans Owner, Bob McNair It is that time of year where Houston Texans fans will start clamoring to find out who might be the next draft pick of the hometown team. We helped out and put together the top wide receivers of this 2013 NFL draft that are considered to be picks in the top two rounds. There are plenty of wide receivers that could fit…

The Night Rider: An Interview with Rennie Moore
”I am thankful that the coaches saw the football player in me and I’m ready to battle for the Texans.” Rennie Moore, Defensive End, Houston Texans, Clemson It is not often when everything comes together last minute but for Clemson Tiger, Rennie Moore, that was the case. Moore is the definition of hard work that paid off and after an impressive senior season at Death Valley, the Houston Texans came knocking on his door. At 6-3 245 lbs., the former defensive end will be lining up in the same position for the Texans when camp starts, and trust me Moore is more…
Texans Profiles: The UDFA
Very impressed with the Houston Texans draft class, the team did not stop after the draft getting some more work done. The Texans front office has put together what appears to be one of the more impressive undrafted rookie free agent groups we have seen in some time. The class is headlined with three players who in our estimation have real shots at making the Texans roster, and the reason why these three did not get drafted is still puzzling. Even still, this 2012 draft crop of rookies has the chance to be one of the deepest in Texans’ history. The Texans…
Scouting the Draft for a Mario Williams Replacement
This is an installment from State of the Texans feature Columnist, Mike Kerns. Even before the eventual departure of Mario Williams to free agency, it is always said of a Wade Phillips 3-4 defense that one can never have enough linebackers. Be it inside or outside, you can’t have another situation like last season where Connor Barwin and Brooks Reed were playing virtually every snap and giving the trainer with the oxygen masks a workout after every play. With this logic in mind combined with this little event known as the NFL Draft right around the corner, my…
