With the franchise tag being passed out as we speak, and Monday being the last official day to tag players, the NFL offseason is heating up. Luckily for you avid readers we have all the answers this offseason for the Texans. The Houston Texans coming off of their first ever division title and playoff win, are faced what every team goes through after the season. They face decisions that will shape the roster for years to come, and in 2012 the Texans have some key free agents.

Contract Talk: Dominique Barber

It this series we are going to look at the potential free agents of the Houston Texans, and figure out if they work into the plans for the coming years….   Dominique Barber was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2008 in the 6th round with the 173rd overall selection out of Minnesota. He is only one of the remaining two players from the Texans 2008 draft class still with the Texans, Duane Brown is the other. Barber has been a special teams warrior for the Texans since coming to Houston, and fought hard to win a roster spot in 2011.

All is good in Houston after the Texans win over the Cleveland Browns with a dominant victory by the score of 30-12. With the Texans at 6-3 and leading the AFC South, this is some rare air the franchise and fans are not used to. Injuries Not Slowing Down the Texans

Injuries are apart of the NFL landscape and the injury bug is sweeping through the Houston Texans locker room. Just like every team in the NFL they have to adapt, in a hurry.   The Texans have competed and had chances to win in all of their losses this season, but they have made it interesting despite all of their injuries, and some have been to big time players that it could cripple other NFL teams.

Texans Promote One from the Practice Squad

To fill Dominique Barber’s position on the 53-man roster, the Houston Texans promoted rookie safety Shiloh Keo today. Keo is a 5th round draft pick in this years 2011 draft (144th overall) out of Idaho University.

Texans Sign One to the Practice Squad

The Houston Texans have brought back running back Javarris Williams and signed him to the practice squad. Williams was signed early in training camp to help during camp with all of the injuries to the running backs.

Texans Lose Another For the Year

The Houston Texans lost safety, Dominique Barber for the year with a Lisfranc injury that he suffered against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. This injury puts 9 total Texans on the injured reserve for the 2011 season.

10 Thoughts: Texans vs. Raiders

The Houston Texans dominated the early part of the game and missed some big opportunities to put away the Oakland Raiders this past Sunday and fell to 3-2 with a 25-20 loss. The Texans seemed to be in a “funk” from the opening whistle, and were their own worst enemy the whole game, and gave the inspired Raiders team room to breath and escape with a victory.   Here are 10 random thoughts from Sunday’s game.
