According to Head Coach Gary Kubiak, star defensive end J.J. Watt dislocated his elbow and will be out for a short amount of time. He will be ready for Week One at the latest. Kubiak was quick to say, “We dodged another bullet.” There will be no rush to get Watt back on the field according to Kubiak, because they know what they are going to get from him. J.J. Watt has been a star in the making since he was taken 11th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin, and placed into the starting defensive end position…

Texans Training Camp: Another Scare
Full pads were on for the 6th day of camp and the Houston Texans did receive a scare to one of their star players. - Duane Brown, starting left tackle, got kicked on his left ankle when he got rolled up from behind. Brown played two plays after the incident but couldn’t continue. After evaluation they shut him down for the day and he headed in for an MRI. The MRI came back negative and was only deemed a bone bruise. He has been listed as day-to-day. Rashad Butler will fill in at the left tackle position until Brown comes back….
Training Camp: Making Impressions
On Day Three of the Houston Texans training camp, the shoulder pads and live contact took place at Reliant. After plenty of walk through work and no contact, that all quickly changed. Check out our camp notes from Day Three: – Head Coach Gary Kubiak pushed his team a little harder in day three with pads on and the Texas heat. It was evident which players were ready for this heat, and plenty of players got tired out there on Monday. – The offense came out with plenty of false starts especially from the young guys. Fullback Derrell Smith had some…
The Ultimate Texas Team
With all the talent that comes out of Texas and goes on to become professional football players for various teams I began to think about the two professional teams we have now. I wondered if I could create an “Ultimate Texas Team” consisted of nothing but professional football players that are currently playing who would I pick? Well, seeing how we only have two professional teams in Texas in the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys how would I build it and who would I pick? To start I must clear my head of my Texans bias just long enough…

Andre Johnson Injury Update and others
According to multiple sources, wide receiver Andre Johnson will miss up to one week of training camp with a strained groin, and an MRI revealed no real significant damage. The injury happened in one-on-one drills when he jumped for a pass and came down hard on the ground. Johnson wanted to continue practice but trainers put a stop to that in a hurry. With the latest injury surrounding Johnson, the Texans will lean on an unproven wide receiver group to get them through training camp. Don’t expect Johnson to be rushed back from this minor injury. Mark Berman from Fox Sports Houston also reported that starting cornerback Kareem Jackson suffered a…
Training Camp: No Need to Panic
With Day Two morning session in the books, there was plenty of news out of Houston Texans camp, both good and bad. Here are some day 2 notes: – Wide receiver Andre Johnson was the headline of the day due to a “tweaked” groin, and being witness to it I can see where the concern would come from. We were about 10 yards from where he was trying to get stretched out by the trainers, to get going again for 1-on-1 drills with the defensive backs. Headed under the tent to see the head trainer, they ran a battery of tests on…
