Texans Training Camp: Another Scare

Keshawn-Martin

Full pads were on for the 6th day of camp and the Houston Texans did receive a scare to one of their star players.     - Duane Brown, starting left tackle, got kicked on his left ankle when he got rolled up from behind. Brown played two plays after the incident but couldn’t continue. After evaluation they shut him down for the day and he headed in for an MRI. The MRI came back negative and was only deemed a bone bruise. He has been listed as day-to-day. Rashad Butler will fill in at the left tackle position until Brown comes back….

The Different Faces of James Casey

James Casey

When it comes to talking about Houston Texans’ fullback James Casey, his true position as a player is up for debate. Considered the starting fullback and the second tight end in the “Tiger” formation, according to Head Coach Gary Kubiak, he has more importance to the Texans’ offense than fans realize. After Casey missed a few games after hurting his pectoral against the Oakland Raiders on the punt coverage team, it took about four to five games for Casey to regain his full strength. Casey by the time he returned was replaced by Lawrence Vickers at fullback, and he never really received the snaps…

The State of the Texans’ Offense

Texans Huddle vs. Titans 2011

In 2011, the Texans’ defense was a revelation but their offense was still solid as usual. While not as explosive as in the past due to injuries to their two most important pieces to their passing attack, Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson, the offense still finished 13th in the NFL in total offense with 372.1 yards per game. They were 18th in passing with 219.1 yards a game and 2nd in rushing with 153 yards a game. They were also 10th in scoring with 23.8 points per game so it is safe to say that the Texans had a well…

This will give T.J. Yates,…

Texans vs. Ravens: The Rematch

When we look at this upcoming divisional game, the Houston Texans match up very well against the favored Baltimore Ravens. Trust me being a fan of the Texans people may think I am wearing Battle Red tinted glasses, but honestly the Texans have an opprotunity to make this 2011 run even better.   One thing that keeps popping up in my mind is the fact that the Texans were down 19-14 against the Ravens in Baltimore with 4:14 seconds left in the game. Are the Ravens one of the top teams in the AFC, of course and so are…
