Texans First Cuts Announced

The Houston Texans have released their first cuts of the preseason and getting to the league mandated 75 by Monday. The biggest surprises with the current list is Brett Hartmann, Derrell Smith and Nick Mondek. Nick Mondek was drafted in the 6th round in the 2012 NFL draft and was considered a project coming into the season.  He never really impressed at any level to get to the second round of cuts. Derrell Smith, who was making a position change from linebacker to fullback, never got going with the offense. Training Camp: Rejuvenated

With Day Eight in the books, the Houston Texans had an upbeat practice which turned into only a morning session. For two hours, the team was running well and both the offense and defense had some good moments out at the Reliant practice fields.   – According to Head Coach Gary Kubiak, three starters are set to return to practice on Monday. Kareem Jackson, Duane Brown and Andre Johnson have all made it clear they are ready to go but the Texans, being gun-shy from last season’s injury bug, are taking every precaution with their players. – Defensive lineman Sonny Harris left practice early…
